Oregon State head coach John leaves game in ambulance
Corvallis, OR (Sports Network) – Oregon State head basketball coach Jay
John left Saturday’s game against Washington at halftime on a stretcher,
complaining of chest pains and shortness of breath.
After being examined by athletics trainers and an on-call doctor, John left
the arena stable and alert but was wearing an oxygen mask when he boarded the
John was taken to the University of Washington Medical Center, where he will
undergo examinations and tests. Oregon State’s basketball team publicist,
Roger Horne, stated that the head coach’s blood pressure appeared elevated.
Washington won the contest, 108-68.
