Madison, WI (Sports Network) – Luther Head had 18 points to lead top-ranked
Illinois to a 75-65 win over 18th-ranked Wisconsin at the Kohl Center. Deron
Williams added 13 points, six rebounds and six assists for the Illini (20-0,
6-0 Big Ten), who continued their best start in school history and remain one
of three unbeatens in the country. Alando Tucker had 16 points and eight
rebounds for the Badgers (13-4, 4-2), who had the nation’s longest home
winning streak halted at 38 games. Sharif Chambliss added 14 points and Mike
Wilkinson tallied 13 for Wisconsin, which had a three-game win streak end and
lost for just the second time in 10 outings.

sixth-ranked Kansas Jayhawks used record-setting three-point shooting to
paste Baylor, 86-66, in Big 12 action at the Ferrell Center. Coming off their
first loss of the season, 83-62, to Villanova on Saturday, the Jayhawks (15-1,
5-0 Big 12) set a school record by hitting 16 three-pointers. Jeff Hawkins (15
points) led the Kansas assault with five three-pointers, J.R. Giddens (14)
added four and Keith Langford (17) and Aaron Miles (11) both hit three treys.
Leading Baylor (9-7, 1-4) was Aaron Bruce with 23 points. Tommy Swanson scored
17 points and Tim Bush chipped in with 14.

Azubuike added 17, as seventh-ranked Kentucky remained unbeaten in conference
play with an 84-62 victory over Tennessee at Thompson-Boling Arena. Rajon
Rondo netted nine points for the Wildcats (15-2, 6-0 SEC), who have won five
in a row and 11 of their last 12 contests. Chris Lofton paced the
Volunteers with 17 points. Major Wingate had 14 points and C.J. Watson added
12 for Tennessee (10-9, 3-3), which has dropped two straight.

while Marcus Williams netted 12 and dished out five assists. The Huskies
(12-4, 4-2 Big East), have now won their last five games against the
Mountaineers. Tyrone Salley paced West Virginia with 16 points and Patrick
Beilein chipped in 12 for the Mountaineers (11-6, 1-5), who have lost six of
their last seven games.
