Wolfpack forward Watkins out with injury
Raleigh, NC (Sports Network) – North Carolina State forward Levi Watkins is
expected to miss at least four weeks with a sprained right knee.
The 6-8 senior, who missed most of his freshman season with a torn left
anterior cruciate ligament, apparently sprained his medial collateral ligament
during a recent practice.
Watkins has posted averages of 4.7 points and 13.3 minutes in 18 games this
season — 12 as a starter.
The Wolfpack (13-7, 3-4 Atlantic Coast Conference) are already without the
team’s second-leading scorer, Cameron Bennerman. Bennerman, who is averaging
10.3 points an outing, suffered a sprained elbow in practice about two weeks
ago and has not played since.
North Carolina State will visit No. 2 North Carolina on Thursday.
