Illinois remained unbeaten with a convincing 81-68 win over 12th-ranked
Michigan State at the Breslin Center. Dee Brown added 18 points and five
rebounds while Deron Williams finished with 14 points for the Fighting
Illini (22-0, 8-0 Big Ten), who extended the best start in school history.
Illinois has the longest active road winning streak in the nation as they
posted their 11th consecutive victory as the visitor dating back to last
season. Alan Anderson scored 14 points, while Shannon Brown and Paul Davis
each netted 12 for the Spartans (14-4, 5-2), who saw their four-game winning
streak come to an end.

and eight rebounds, as fifth-ranked Boston College captured its 19th straight
victory with a 62-50 decision over West Virginia at Silvio O. Conte Forum.
Jared Dudley posted 15 points for the Eagles (19-0, 8-0 Big East), who
remained one of just two undefeated teams in college basketball. Jermaine
Watson added 13 points for BC, which will now head to the Meadowlands on
Saturday for a date with Seton Hall. Mike Gansey and Tyrone Sally each scored
10 points for the Mountaineers (12-7, 2-6), who have dropped six of their
last seven and are beginning to fade from the postseason picture after
starting the season with 10 straight wins.

as the Clemson Tigers shocked No. 22 Maryland and snapped a pair of lengthy
losing streaks with an 88-73 victory at Littlejohn Coliseum. Ford also pulled
down a game-high 10 rebounds giving him his third consecutive double-double.
He is now just three points shy of 1,000 for his career. Meanwhile, Clemson
(11-10, 2-7 ACC) ended a five-game losing streak and won for just the second
time in nine Atlantic Coast Conference contests. The Tigers also snapped a 13-
game losing streak to Maryland. Shawan Robinson used 5-of-8 shooting from
three-point distance en route to 22 points for Clemson. Maryland (13-6,
4-4) was playing its first game since returning to the Top-25 rankings after
it posted victories over ranked foes Duke and Georgia Tech. John Gilchrist
netted 18 points, while Chris McCray contributed 11 for the Terrapins, who
had their two-game winning streak snapped.
