UConn guard Anderson hospitalized
Storrs, CT (Sports Network) – University of Connecticut guard Rashad Anderson
has been hospitalized and is being treated for a skin abscess on his right
leg, the school said Wednesday.
Anderson, the team’s leading scorer, was checked into Windham Hospital with a
skin abscess in the inner thigh area of his right leg. The infection was
drained Tuesday night, and Anderson is expected to remain in the hospital for
as many as three days while receiving intravenous antibiotics.
The junior guard is averaging 13.8 points per game this season. His status for
Sunday’s game against No. 2 North Carolina will not be determined until Friday
afternoon, at the earliest.
