UConn guard Anderson likely out for Sunday’s game
Storrs, CT (Sports Network) – University of Connecticut guard Rashad Anderson
was transferred from Windham Hospital to Hartford Hospital on Thursday, as he
continues to be treated for a skin abscess on his right leg.
The reason for the transfer is that Hartford Hospital has additional treatment
resources, specifically a hyperbaric oxygen chamber. This will assist with the
healing of the wound following the draining of the abscess on Tuesday night.
Anderson, the team’s leading scorer with a 13.8 points-per-game average, is
not expected to play in Sunday’s showdown against No. 2 North Carolina. The
Huskies are currently ranked 19th.
The junior guard was checked into Windham Hospital on Tuesday with the skin
abscess in the inner thigh area.
