Jackson State’s White suspended
Jackson, MS (Sports Network) – The Southwestern Athletic Conference has
suspended Jackson State basketball player Charles White for three games
because of an altercation during Monday’s game at Southern University.
“As we have stressed in the past, the SWAC Office encourages sporting
behavior and adherence to the conference’s Sportsmanlike Conduct Policy. We
will continue to enforce the policies to ensure that everyone in our athletics
programs act in a manner that brings credit to our member institutions,
themselves, intercollegiate athletics and the conference,” said conference
commissioner Robert Vowels.
White was ejected from Monday’s game after punching Southern’s Chris Alexander
in the face. The freshman point guard is averaging 8.8 points, 4.1 rebounds
and 3.3 assists this season.
