Colorado suspends four players

Boulder, CO (Sports Network) – The University of Colorado announced that four
players from the men’s basketball team have been suspended for a violation of
team rules.

Forwards Chris Copeland, Martane Freeman, Julius Ashby and guard Marcus Hall
were all given one-game suspensions by head coach Ricardo Patton and will not
play in Tuesday’s conference game versus Missouri.

The exact reason for the suspension is being withheld, although Patton did
state that all four players violated the same rule.

On the season, Copeland is the team’s second leading scorer (12.6) and is
grabbing 6.0 rebounds per contest, while Hall is third on the club with an
11.9 points per game average and leads the Buffaloes by posting 4.4 assists
per game. Ashby is averaging 6.1 boards a game, which leads the team, and is
also putting in 7.1 points per outing.

Freeman is averaging only 2.4 points per game in a reserve role.
