Utah’s Bogut to enter NBA draft

Salt Lake City, UT (Sports Network) – Utah center Andrew Bogut declared
himself eligible for the NBA Draft at an afternoon press conference Monday.

Bogut, a seven-foot sophomore from Australia, was named a finalist for the
Naismith College Player of the Year after averaging 20.4 points and 12.4
rebounds for the Utes this season.

He led Utah to the Sweet 16 for the first time in seven years, averaging 18.0
points, 11.3 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 2.0 blocks over three games in the NCAA

Considered a possible No. 1 overall pick, Bogut showed his versatility in a
second-round victory over Oklahoma by collecting a season-high seven assists
while the Sooners consistently badgered him with a double-team.

The win set up a meeting with Kentucky in the Utes’ first regional semifinals
appearance since 1998, when they advanced all the way to the national
championship game.

Bogut had 20 points and 12 rebounds against the Wildcats, but Utah fell 62-52.
