Bonnies’ Solomon given contract extension

St. Bonaventure, NY (Sports Network) – St. Bonaventure University announced
Thursday that men’s basketball coach Anthony Solomon received a contract
extension that will keep him with the Bonnies through the 2008-09 season.

“Coach Solomon’s focus is on building a solid foundation for future success,
and we support him in that effort,” said director of athletics Dr. Ron
Zwierlein. “At this point in time, our basketball program needs patience and
time in order to achieve its goals.”

Solomon, who was hired in May of 2003, was brought on to try and restore the
Bonnies’ basketball program after the school put itself on a self-imposed
sanction during the 2002-03 campaign when it was discovered the team used an
ineligible player.

In his two years at the helm, Solomon has compiled a 9-47 mark, including a
4-28 record in Atlantic 10 Conference play. The Bonnies went just
2-26 and 1-15 in the conference this past season.
