Report: Robinson heading to NBA
Seattle, WA (Sports Network) – University of Washington guard Nate Robinson
has apparently decided to forgo his final year of eligibility and will enter
the upcoming NBA Draft.
The Seattle Times reported that Robinson has scheduled a news conference for
this afternoon at Edmundson Pavilion at which time he will likely make it
Robinson, who attended the pre-draft camp in Chicago last year before deciding
to return to UW, has been projected as a second round pick by some NBA
observers. Last week he watched teammate Will Conray at a camp in Virginia and
said he could attend the Chicago camp again this year.
Twice named to the All-Pac 10 team, Robinson’s decision to go pro should come
as no surprise, as he has hinted strongly that he would do so ever since the
Huskies lost to Louisville in the Albuquerque Regional semifinals of the NCAA
“I have a family,” Robinson, who has one child, told the paper. “It’s time to
provide for my family.”
In 35 games last season Robinson averaged a team-high 16.4 points.
