No. 11 Boston College cruises past Shawnee State

Chestnut Hill, MA (Sports Network) – Jared Dudley scored 18 points to lead all
scorers, as 11th-ranked Boston College upended Shawnee State, 70-51, at Conte
Forum.

Dudley went 7-of-13 from the field, pulled down nine rebounds and added three
steals.

Craig Smith had 14 points and 13 rebounds and Sean Marshall chipped in 14
points and eight rebounds for the Eagles (2-0), who went to the free throw
line 26 times in the game.

Terrence Davison and Frank Hall both scored 10 points to pace the Bears (3-3),
who have lost two straight. Kevin McDonald added nine points and six rebounds
for the Bears.

After establishing a 34-22 halftime lead, Boston College ripped off a 15-2 run
early in the second to go ahead by 20 points.

The Eagles went 6-of-7 from the free throw line during that stretch, and
Smith made a layup with 11:02 remaining to make it 49-29.

Marshall followed with a tip-in and Tyrese Rice added a layup over the
next couple of minutes to increase the lead to 23.

Marshall later answered a Bryan Robinson jumper to put the Eagles up 56-37 and
thwart any Shawnee State comeback hopes. Boston College cruised the rest of
the way.
