Reno, NV (Sports Network) – Marcelus Kemp scored 19 points and Mo Charlo
added 12 points, five rebounds and four assists to lead the 17th-ranked Nevada
Wolf Pack over the UC-Davis Aggies, 78-51, at Lawlor Events Center.

Demarshay Johnson and Nick Fazekas added 10 points apiece for Nevada (6-0),
which held UC-Davis to 33 percent shooting. The Wolf Pack connected on 58
percent of their shots in the contest.

Kyle Brucculeri led the Aggies with 16 points and Phil Rasmussen added 10
points and 11 boards for UC-Davis (1-5), which stunned the Stanford Cardinal
last Sunday at home in a 64-58 final for its only win thus far this season.

Down by 16 at the half, UC-Davis went on a 7-1 spurt capped by Rasmussen’s
layup with 16:43 remaining to cut Nevada’s lead to 41-31.

But the Wolf Pack responded with a 10-0 run, six of which was scored by
Fazekas, to establish a 20-point advantage at 51-31. Later, after a 19-2 run
by Nevada capped by a Seth Taylor trey opened a 77-41 lead with 2:15
remaining, UC-Davis never threatened.

The Aggies outscored the Wolf Pack 11-1 down the stretch to provide the final
78-51 margin.

Nevada established control early after Charlo scored six of the Wolf Pack’s
first 10 points en route to a 10-0 lead. Nevada extended that lead to 19-5
after Kemp connected on nine consecutive points.

But a three-pointer by Rommel Marentez midway through the first half cut
Nevada’s lead to 22-11, but after Denis Ikovlev sank a trey with 4:33 left,
the Wolf Pack had built a 37-21 lead on the way to a 40-24 halftime lead.
