No. 25 Wolfpack roll over Appalachian State

Raleigh, NC (Sports Network) – Andrew Brackman led five players in double
figures with 16 points, as 25th-ranked NC State rolled to a 92-68 win over
Appalachian State at Reynolds Coliseum.

Cameron Bennerman had 13 points while Ilian Evtimov and Gavin Grant both
added 11 for the Wolfpack (6-1), who rebounded from their only loss of
the season to Iowa on November 30th in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. Ben McCauley
chipped in 10 points for NC State.

Nathan Cranford paced Appalachian State (3-5) with a game-high 18 points.
Demetrius Scott contributed 12 points in the loss.

The Mountaineers have lost five of their last six games.

Brackman’s dunk early in the game gave NC State an 11-6 lead, but the
Mountaineers responded with six straight points to go ahead by one. Webb’s
jumper capped the spurt with 13 1/2 minutes left in the first half.

However, Evtimov and Bennerman later drained three-pointers in succession to
give the Wolfpack a 22-14 advantage. The remainder of the first half was tight
and NC State eventually headed to the break with a 38-26 lead.

Appalachian State offered little resistance in the second half and never
threatened to make it a game.
