College Park, MD (Sports Network) – Ekene Ibekwe poured in 21 points and
grabbed nine rebounds as the 21st-ranked Maryland Terrapins earned a 73-71
victory over No. 6 Boston College at the Comcast Center in the Eagles’ first-
ever league game as a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference. Chris McCray
chipped in 16 points and dished out five assists for Maryland (7-2, 1-0
ACC), which has won two straight. Nik Caner-Medley and Mike Jones each scored
nine points in the victory. Craig Smith led Boston College (6-2, 0-1) with 23
points and 12 rebounds, his 32nd career double-double. The Eagles have lost
two straight after opening the season by winning their first six games. Sean
Marshall added 15 points in defeat.
