rebounder Ivan Almonte, who logged only 10 minutes in the contest before
leaving with an injury.

lead.

Up 6-5 just over 1 1/2 minutes into the game, the Spartans exploded with a
28-6 run to take a commanding 34-11 lead with 2:49 left in the opening half.

up by a 23-8 margin. Brown was also key as he dropped 11 points during the
spurt, including a trio of three-pointers.

Later, an 8-0 spurt extended the Spartans to a 42-17 edge with 40 seconds left
in the first half.

Brown’s three-point basket 2:10 into the second half put Michigan State up by
32 points at 54-22 and seven straight free throws by Ager extended the
Spartans to a 64-29 with 13:51 remaining.

Four straight three-pointers by the Golden Panthers, including two in a row by
Fuller, cut the deficit to 64-40, but Ager’s dunk increased the Spartans lead
to 71-40 with 10:25 left to play.

An 8-0 run that consisted of mostly free throws pulled Florida International
to within 79-56, but the Spartans ended the game on a 6-2 run to account for
