Columbus, OH (Sports Network) – Terence Dials dropped in a game-high 23 points
and had nine rebounds to lead No. 21 Ohio State to an easy 87-58 win over
Gardner-Webb at Value City Arena.

Je’Kel Foster added 14 points on 4-of-5 shooting while Ron Lewis also had 14
for the Buckeyes (9-0), who improved to 7-0 at home this season.

Simon Conn netted 14 points and had 13 boards for the Bulldogs (5-4), who lost
for the second time in three games. Brian Bender chipped in 12 points while
Ricky McPhee had 10 in the loss.

In the first-ever meeting between the two schools, Ohio State took control
with a 16-2 spurt capped by Lewis’ jumper with 9:49 left in the first half.
The run turned what had been a tight game into a 25-10 Buckeye rout.

After 20 minutes of action, Ohio State pushed the advantage to 17 and led
42-25 at the half. Dials paced the Buckeyes with 12 points, while Conn topped
the Bulldogs with 10.

Ohio State opened the second half in a similar dominant fashion. A 19-8 run
out of the locker room enabled the Buckeyes to extend the lead to 28, 61-33,
with 14:17 remaining.

The closest the Bulldogs could make it the rest of the way would be 23 as Ohio
State cruised to the easy victory.
