Huskies down Big Red
Seattle, WA (Sports Network) – Jon Brockman scored 17 points and pulled down
12 rebounds, as 10th-ranked Washington breezed past Cornell, 87-71, at Bank of
Justin Dentmon added 15 points and Jamaal Williams tallied 13 points and seven
rebounds for the Huskies (12-1), who outrebounded the Big Red, 46-27. Brandon
Roy finished with 11 points and six boards for Washington, which shot 60.6
percent (20-of-33) from the field in the first half and 53.8 percent for the
Jason Hartford had 17 points for the Big Red. Lenny Collins had 15 points and
Ryan Rourke added 11 points for Cornell (4-8), which lost despite committing
just eight turnovers to 14 for Washington.
The Huskies had the nation’s longest homecourt winning streak end on Saturday
in a 96-95 double-overtime defeat to Arizona.
