Duquesne G Higgins will not return to team

Pittsburgh, PA (Sports Network) – Duquesne University announced Tuesday that
senior guard Jack Higgins will not return to the team this semester so he can
focus more on academics.

“I think it is in Jack’s best interest to continue working toward his degree
without basketball as part of the equation,” said head coach Danny Nee. “It is
important that he focus on his studies in order for him to earn what he came
here for – and that’s a four-year degree. There are no eligibility issues
involved. It is a matter of putting Jack in a position to be successful

Higgins, who transferred from Cleveland State in December 2003, averaged 9.3
points with 3.0 rebounds this season at Duquesne. He also had a team-leading
16 three-pointers and finished his career second on the Dukes’ all-time three-
point accuracy list at 39.1 percent.
