Washington, DC (Sports Network) – Mike Hall scored a game-high 20 points and
Carl Elliott added 18, leading 17th-ranked George Washington to an 82-70 win
over Saint Joseph’s at the Charles E. Smith Center.

Danilo Pinnock scored 17 points and Pops Mensah-Bonsu netted 13 for George
Washington (12-1, 3-0 Atlantic 10), which has won four in a row since its only
loss of the season to NC State on December 30.

Dwayne Lee and Chet Stachitas both led Saint Joseph’s with 14 points. Rob
Ferguson and Abdulai Jalloh had nine points apiece, as the Hawks (6-7, 1-3)
dropped their sixth contest in eight tries.

Elliott knocked down a three-pointer to give GW a 60-46 lead midway through
the second half. He later made another three and the Colonials owned a 71-55
cushion.

Saint Joseph’s had no chance for a comeback and suffered the 12-point loss.

George Washington jumped out to a 16-7 lead on Ferguson’s basket and later
made it 32-13 on a Pinnock hoop with about five minutes to go. The Colonials
then carried a 38-23 advantage into the locker room.

Game Notes

The Colonials are a perfect 8-0 at home in 2005-06…Saint Joseph’s owns a
26-20 lead in the all-time series with George Washington…The Colonials
also prevailed in the last encounter, taking a 76-67 victory in the
championship game of last year’s Atlantic 10 Tournament in Cincinnati.
