Aggies’ Fisher declared ineligible

Las Cruces, NM (Sports Network) – New Mexico State’s basketball program
announced on Friday that junior David Fisher has been ruled academically
ineligible to play for the remainder of the season.

The 6-foot-6 forward has averaged 8.5 points and 6.4 rebounds in 15 games,
including 11 starts, this season for the Aggies (7-8, 3-1 WAC).

“This is a very unfortunate situation for David and our team,” said coach
Reggie Theus. “It is a tremendous loss for us as a team, but we have a lot of
capable guys and they are going to all need to step it up.”

New Mexico State will take on Louisiana Tech (11-7, 4-1 WAC) on Saturday at
Ruston, LA.
