Pittsburgh at UConn will be a battle on the boards

Good game on tonight: Connecticut versus Pittsburgh.

Both teams only have one loss under their belts, but Connecticut reigns supreme as No. 1 in the AP polls.

However, Pitt dealt the Huskies a major blow last season as it handed them their first home loss in three years. The Panthers are coming off a close, but none-the-less, win against St. John’s on Jan. 21.

But as they prepare to face UConn, the battle on the boards will definitely be interesting. In Connecticut’s win against Providence, the Huskies out-rebounded their opponents 52-34. Pitt’s Aaron Gray averages nearly 11 rebounds and more than 13 points per game. In the Panthers’ match-up against Marquette, Gray tied a school record with 20 boards.

Even though Gray is 7’0”, 270 pounds, the combination of Rudy Gay, Josh Boone and Denham Brown has been known to destroy.

Tip-off is at 7:30 p.m. You got nearly seven hours to prepare yourself.
