East Rutherford, NJ (Sports Network) – Rudy Gay and Rashad Anderson each hit
for 18 points, as top-ranked Connecticut destroyed Seton Hall, 99-57, at
Continental Airlines Arena.

Marcus Williams chipped in 15 points and 10 assists, while Hilton Armstrong
totaled nine points, 13 rebounds and four blocks for the Huskies (22-1, 9-1
Big East), who tuned up for their big game against No. 4 Villanova in
Philadelphia on Monday with their 11th straight victory.

Donald Copeland had 17 points and seven assists to pace Seton Hall (15-7,
6-4), which had its six-game victory streak snapped. Jamar Nutter had 13
points for the Pirates, who were outrebounded 60-32 and shot just 31 percent,
compared to 52.6 percent for the Huskies.

UConn’s 22-1 start is third best in team history. The 1995-96 team began 24-1
and the 1998-99 squad was 23-1.

UConn has won 19 of the last 21 meetings in the series.
