University of Arkansas fined by SEC

Birmingham, AL (Sports Network) – The University of Arkansas was fined
$5,000 on Monday by the Southeastern Conference for a violation of the
league’s access to competition area policy.

The violation took place following the Razorbacks 85-81 victory over the
Florida Gators on February 18 when fans stormed the court of the Bud Walton
Arena after the game.

“This policy is designed to create a safe environment for everyone who
participates and attends our athletic contests,” said SEC commissioner Mike
Slive. “The security and protection of our student-athletes, coaches,
officials and fans is our primary concern.”
