Bruins rout the Ducks

Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) – Arron Afflalo and Luc Richard Mbah a Moute
both scored 14 points to pace 19th-ranked UCLA to a 70-53 victory over Oregon
at Pauley Pavilion.

Mbah a Moute also grabbed 10 boards and Jordan Farmer added 11 points for the
Bruins (22-6, 12-4 Pac-10), who have a one-game lead on Washington and
California atop the conference standings. The Bruins play at California and
Stanford to close the regular season.

UCLA shot 53.2 percent from the field, on the way to its seventh victory in
nine games.

Aaron Brooks posted 19 points for Oregon (13-16, 7-10), which had won three of
four coming into Sunday’s contest. Chamberlain Oguchi tallied 10 points, but
the Ducks shot just 41.2 percent from the field and wasted a five-point
halftime lead.

The Bruins, who were behind by as many as seven points in the opening half,
trailed 28-23 at the break, but put up 47 second-half points.

A 13-1 run blew the game open for UCLA. Mbah a Moute’s layup made the score
46-34 with 9:19 remaining. Oregon never got closer than nine points after
that.

A bucket by Brooks had the Ducks within 58-49, but UCLA put in the next seven
points, capped by Cedric Bozeman’s two free throws with 1:17 remaining.

The Bruins made 15-of-24 field goals in the second half, compared to 8-of-27
for the Ducks.
