Cravens ousted by Weber State

Ogden, UT (Sports Network) – Weber State University fired men’s head
basketball coach Joe Cravens on Monday.

The announcement came after the Wildcats finished the season with four
consecutive losses, and a disappointing 10-17 record, including a 4-10
conference mark that was good for last place in the Big Sky Conference.
The team did not make for the conference tournament, marking the first time
this has happened since 1981.

Cravens spent two seasons as a Wildcats assistant before taking over as head
coach in 1999. He spent seven seasons in charge of the Wildcats, posting a
116-88 overall record, including a 58-44 mark in the Big Sky. However, the
Wildcats have posted losing marks the last two seasons.

He won his lone Big Sky title with Weber State in 2002-03, with a perfect 14-0
record in the conference. He also was named Big Sky Coach of the Year the same
