Tucson, AZ (Sports Network) – The Arizona Wildcats announced Monday that
senior forward and leading scorer Hassan Adams will not join the team in Los
Angeles for the upcoming Pac-10 Tournament due to a violation of team rules.

Head coach Lute Olson said that the 21-year-old Adams will not play in any
game during the Wildcats conference tournament run, but will rejoin the team
for a potential NCAA Tournament appearance.

“I apologize to the team, to the coaches, the university and the fans for my
violation of a team rule,” said Adams. “I accept the coachs decision to be
suspended from the Pac-10 Tournament. I wish the team well and hope for its
success. I’m looking forward to participating in the NCAA Tournament if
Arizona is invited.”

Adams is averaging 17.3 points and 5.1 rebounds per game this season. He also
has a team-best 78 steals.
