Tulsa, OK (Sports Network) – Ken Tutt poured in 25 points and Larry Owens
added 24 to lead top-seeded Oral Roberts to the Mid-Continent Conference
Tournament title and their first trip to the NCAA Tournament since 1984 with
an 85-72 victory over Chicago State.
Caleb Green added 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Golden Eagles (21-11), who
earned just their third trip to the NCAA Tournament. They reached the Elite
Eight in 1974 and went back to the Big Dance 10 years later after winning the
Midwestern Collegiate Conference postseason tourney.
David Holston had 21 points and Michael Henderson added 13 for Chicago State
(11-19), which was seeded sixth.
