Minnesota advances in NIT
Minneapolis, MN (Sports Network) – Vincent Grier posted 18 points and eight
assists to pace the Minnesota Golden Gophers in their 73-58 first round
victory over the Wake Forest Demon Deacons in the NIT.
Maurice Hargrow tallied 15 points for Minnesota (16-14), which also got 13
points from Adam Boone and 12 points from J’son Stamper. The Golden Gophers
will battle either Cincinnati or Charlotte on March 21st.
Chris Ellis netted 12 points and Justin Gray added 11 points in the loss for
the Demon Deacons (17-17).
Minnesota connected on 51.6 percent of its field goal attempts in the first
half and led 39-33 at intermission.
