Hoosiers advance with win over San Diego State

Salt Lake City, UT (Sports Network) – Marco Killingsworth, Robert Vaden and
Earl Calloway each chipped in 18 points as the sixth-seeded Indiana Hoosiers
defeated the 11th-seeded San Diego State Aztecs, 87-83, in first round action
of the Oakland Bracket in the NCAA Tournament.

Calloway also totaled four boards and six steals and Roderick Wilmont had 11
points and six boards for the Hoosiers (19-11), who will play the No. 3 seed
Gonzaga Bulldogs on Saturday.

Indiana is 6-2 since head coach Mike Davis announced his resignation on
February 16.

Mohamed Abukar contributed 24 points on 8-of-13 shooting and nine boards
while Brandon Heath scored 15 points for the Aztecs (24-9), who have never won
an NCAA Tournament game.

Marcus Slaughter added 13 points and 10 rebounds and Richie Williams finished
with 12 points, eight assists and four steals in the loss.
