George Karl’s son, Coby, has surgery
Boise, ID (Sports Network) – Boise State guard and son of Denver Nuggets head
coach George Karl, Coby, underwent surgery on his thyroid on Monday night.
The operation was needed after doctors discovered that Coby had Papillary
Carcinoma, which is one of the most treatable forms of cancer. The surgery was
deemed a success and a full recovery is expected.
“Everything went well and I plan on being back to 100 percent in a couple of
weeks,” Coby said. “I want to thank everyone for their concerns and prayers.”
George Karl is expected to coach the Nuggets Tuesday against San Antonio.
“Coby is a very strong person and a very strong athlete,” George said. “We’re
glad the surgery is over and he can get on with his recovery.”
