Millsap bolts for NBA draft
Ruston, LA (Sports Network) – Louisiana Tech junior forward Paul Millsap
announced on Tuesday that he will forego his senior campaign and enter the NBA
According to a statement by Millsap, the junior’s decision to enter the draft
is “(to help my mother) enjoy the life she deserves.”
Millsap averaged 13.3 rebounds per game in 2005-06, becoming the first player
in college basketball history to win the NCAA rebounding championship three
The forward leaves Louisiana Tech as the second leading rebounder in school
history with 1,172 career boards and seventh in scoring with 1,709 points.
Millsap also led the NCAA with 26 double-doubles this past season.
“This is an important and great day for Paul and his family,” Bulldogs head
coach Keith Richard said. “He’s looked hard at his options, and he’s made his
decision, and I support him 100 percent in his pursuit of his NBA dreams.”
