Fazekas declares for NBA Draft
Reno, NV (Sports Network) – Nevada junior forward Nick Fazekas announced he
will forego his senior campaign and enter the NBA Draft.
The Wolf Pack’s leading scorer and rebounder declared his intentions at a
Thursday press conference. The forward did not hire an agent, making him
eligible to return to school if he withdraws from the draft by June 17.
“I had an inkling that I wanted to go. I’ve gone back and forth,” said
Fazekas. “College has been great. There’s no reason to say that it is over.
Coach (Mark) Fox and I have gone back and forth, weighing the plusses and the
minuses. We both just felt that it would be good to test the waters.”
Fazekas averaged 21.8 points and 10.4 rebounds for Nevada in 2005-06, leading
the Wolf Pack to the NCAA Tournament, where they fell to Montana in the first
The forward will work out for several teams and determine whether he will be a
first-round selection in the June 27th draft.
“More than likely, if I am not a first-round pick, then you will see me back
here,” said Fazekas.
