Taylor receives extension at ODU

Norfolk, VA (Sports Network) – Old Dominion University athletic director
Jim Jarrett announced that head men’s basketball coach Blaine Taylor accepted
an offer to extend his contract two additional years through the 2010-11

“I am delighted that we will be continuing this great relationship with Blaine
and Old Dominion University, ” said Jarrett. “The program is enjoying
tremendous growth under Blaine’s leadership and I am particularly pleased with
the type of student athlete he recruits and the quality of his ethics.”

Taylor has coached five seasons at ODU, leading the Monarchs to a 24-10 record
as well as the semi-finals of the National Invitation Tournament this past

Taylor owns a 93-58 career record at ODU, and is 235-124 in 12 seasons as a
collegiate head coach. Taylor was named Coach of the Year in the Colonial
Athletic Association in 2005 with the Monarchs winning a school record 28
