Heath to return to San Diego State
San Diego, CA (Sports Network) – San Diego State guard Brandon Heath, the
leading scorer in the Mountain West Conference last season, withdrew his name
from the 2006 NBA Draft and will return to school for his senior season.
Heath didn’t hire an agent, allowing him to withdraw before the June 18
deadline. He averaged 18.4 points per game last season and helped the Aztecs
to a 24-9 record (13-3 MWC), the regular-season and tournament titles in the
MWC and a berth in the NCAA tournament.
“We’re excited that Brandon will be a San Diego State Aztec for his senior
year,” said head coach Steve Fisher. “During the process of exploring his
viability for the draft, he had exposure to several NBA teams. He received
positive feedback on his game and gained some insight as to what he could do
to continue to improve it.”
