Aggies’ Ford to transfer
Las Cruces, NM (Sports Network) – New Mexico State announced on Tuesday that
sophomore forward Kevin Ford has decided to transfer.
Ford will not return to the Aggie basketball team and is instead expected to
enroll at the College of Southern Idaho.
“We are happy for Kevin,” said Aggie men’s head basketball coach Reggie Theus.
“We have so many upperclassmen that it was going to be difficult to get him
enough playing time, but by going to junior college he will have more of a
chance to develop.”
Ford played in 30 games last season with New Mexico State as the only true
freshman on the Aggies’ roster. He averaged 3.4 points and 3.8 rebounds per
game while shooting 62.1 percent from the floor.
