Duke’s Paulus out indefinitely

Durham, NC (Sports Network) – Duke point guard Greg Paulus is out indefinitely
after suffering a left foot injury.

The sophomore suffered the injury on Saturday in the team’s second official
practice of the year. Paulus, one of three Duke team captains, aggravated a
previous injury.

“This is an unfortunate injury but Greg is an extremely tough individual and
we expect him to make a full recovery,” said Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski.
“Our medical staff will evaluate Greg’s progress continuously and he will
return to action when the foot is fully healed.”

Earlier this year, Paulus had arthroscopic surgery to repair an injured left

Paulus averaged 6.7 points, 2.8 rebounds, 1.6 steals and an ACC-best 5.2
assists per game in 36 contests (33 starts) a year ago. He was named to the
ACC All-Freshman Team and became just the fourth freshman, joining Ed Cota
(North Carolina), Kenny Anderson (Georgia Tech) and Jeff Jones (Virginia), to
lead the ACC in assists per game.

The Blue Devils open the regular season on November 12 at home against
Columbia in the opening round of the College Basketball Experience Classic.
