Report: Knight inks three-year extension with Texas Tech
Oklahoma City, OK (Sports Network) – Texas Tech head basketball coach Bob
Knight has reportedly agreed to a three-year contract extension.
The Dallas Morning News reported the extension, which runs through the 2011-12
season, on Thursday.
The 65-year-old Knight has compiled a 105-61 mark in five seasons with the Red
Raiders. This would be the second contract extension for Knight at Texas Tech
as he also inked an extension that ran through the 2009 season two years ago.
Knight holds a career coaching record of 869-350, leaving him just 11
victories shy of breaking former North Carolina head coach Dean Smith’s all-
time wins record.
The Red Raiders finished 15-17 last season under Knight.
Knight, of course, won three NCAA titles in his 29 seasons at Indiana and also
spent six years at Army.
