Ole Miss could be without Curtis to start season
Oxford, MS (Sports Network) – Ole Miss center Dwayne Curtis could miss the
start of the season because of a left foot injury.
Curtis has a stress fracture of his third metatarsal, an injury he sustained
on the third day of preseason workouts.
It was initially determined that Curtis would miss about two weeks of
practice, but results of an MRI exam forced school medical personnel to re-
evaluate their original diagnosis.
The school now says Curtis will need about four weeks of rehab. An x-ray of
the injury will be taken next week to determine the progress.
Curtis averaged 13.6 points and 7.6 rebounds last year to earn Honorable
Mention All-SEC distinction.
Ole Miss opens its season on November 10 against Mississippi Valley State.
