Kansas’ C Kaun out 3-6 weeks
Lawrence, KS (Sports Network) – Kansas junior center Sasha Kaun will miss
three-to-six weeks of action because of an injury he sustained in practice on
According to head coach Bill Self, Kaun injured his right knee and suffered a
partial tear of his patella tendon. Self added Kaun will not need surgery.
“I think he just planted his leg wrong when he jumped,” Self said. “To be
honest, we’re a little fortunate because we thought (Sunday) it was worse than
what it was.”
The 6-foot-11, 245-pound Kaun started 29 of 33 games in his sophomore season
and averaged 8.2 points and 5.3 rebounds per game.
