No. 9 Wisconsin rolls past Mercer
Madison, WI (Sports Network) – Kammron Taylor scored 22 points, shooting 4-
of-5 from three-point range, and Alando Tucker added 21 as ninth-ranked
Wisconsin cruised to a 72-48 win over Mercer in the season-opener for both
Joe Krabbenhoft added seven points and 10 rebounds for the Badgers (1-0), who
are coming off a disappointing 19-15 record last season.
Hrvoje Pervan was the only player to score in double-figures for the Bears
(0-1) with 10 points. Sam Dolan added nine points for Mercer, which shot just
33.9 percent and was outrebounded 45-38.
The Bears never threatened Wisconsin, which shot 42.9 percent from the floor
and forced 22 Mercer turnovers.
The Badgers took a 39-25 lead into the break before outscoring the Bears by 10
in the second half.
Wisconsin was 14-2 at home last season…This was the first ever meeting
between Mercer and Wisconsin…Tucker was recently named the Big Ten Preseason
Player of the Year.
