No. 22 Wildcats roar past Mississippi Valley State

Lexington, KY (Sports Network) – Ramel Bradley poured in 21 points and dished
out five assists to guide No. 22 Kentucky past Mississippi Valley State,
79-56, at Rupp Arena.

Randolph Morris donated 18 points while Jodie Meeks scored 13 for Kentucky
(2-0), which was coming off a a 57-46 win over Miami-Ohio.

Larry Cox had a team-high 17 points on 7-of-10 shooting for the Delta Devils
(0-3), who have started the season with three straight road losses. Darius
Simmons added 16 points in defeat.

The Wildcats scored the first 15 points of the game to grasp immediate
control. Bradley had seven points in the surge, which Meeks capped with a pair
of free throws less than five minutes in.

Kentucky continued to pour it on in the opening stanza, and built a 36-12
advantage following a Derrick Jasper lay-in with about five minutes to play.

The lead stood at 41-18 at the break behind 12 points from Bradley on 5-of-7
shooting. The Delta Devils were held to just 27 percent shooting in the
opening 20 minutes.

Mississippi Valley State never threatened in the second half.

This was the first-ever meeting between the two clubs…The Delta Devils
turned the ball over 21 times…Mississippi Valley State’s bench outscored
Kentucky’s, 43-23.
