Humphrey and Gators crush Mocs

Gainesville, FL (Sports Network) – Lee Humphrey scored 15 points on 5-of-7
shooting from three-point range as No. 1 Florida throttled Chattanooga, 93-44,
at the O’Connell Center.

Corey Brewer added 13 points for the Gators (4-0), who have won 15 straight
games dating back to last season and 24 consecutive outings against non-
conference competition. Taurean Green chipped in with 11 points and five
assists in the win.

Nicchaeus Doaks was the only player in double figures for the overmatched Mocs
(1-2) with 11 points. Ricky Hood added nine points for Chattanooga, which
lost its second straight game.

The Gators scored the first eight points of the game and never looked back
from there. Florida raced out to a 37-19 edge at intermission thanks to a
stifling defense.

The Gators held the Mocs to just 30 percent shooting in the opening
frame and forced 16 turnovers en route to taking control.

If Chattanooga had any notion of a comeback planned for the second half,
Florida quickly put that to rest by scoring 25 of the first 27 points in the
frame. Humphrey capped the burst by draining a three to make it a laughable
62-21 with 12:17 remaining.

The Gators then went to their bench and rested their starters as they coasted
to the finish line.

Florida finished the game with 23 assists to just nine for the Mocs and hit
on 14-of-31 shots from long range to just 5-of-20 for Chattanooga.

Game Notes

This was the first-ever meeting between Florida and Chattanooga on the
hardwood…Florida is 40-4 in the month of November under Billy Donovan.
