Davis leads No. 7 LSU past UL-Monroe

Baton Rouge, LA (Sports Network) – Glen Davis scored 26 points and grabbed
eight rebounds to lead seventh-ranked Louisiana State to an 88-57 rout of UL-

Tasmin Mitchell added 21 points and seven boards for the Tigers (2-0), who
were never threatened in the game.

Jordan Payne scored 21 points for the Warhawks (2-2), who were overmatched
from the opening tip.

LSU scored 21 of the game’s first 28 points and never looked back. A Dameon
Mason layup 7:23 into the contest capped the surge, giving the Tigers a 21-7

The advantage later reached 18 points when Ben Voogd hit a layup with 5:56
left, 36-18, and the Tigers later ended the half with an 8-1 run to take their
first lead of over 20 points. A Mitchell three-pointer with 1:22 left gave LSU
a 42-22 cushion and the team went into the break with a 44-22 advantage.

The second half saw much of the same and the Tigers won going away.

Darnell Lazare ended with 16 points and Mason had 10 points, seven assists and
five boards for the Tigers, who have won all four meetings against UL-Monroe.

Game Notes

Davis hit 10-of-15 shots from the field and Mitchell hit 7-of-8 shots…UL-
Monroe fell to 0-2 on the road…LSU improved to 2-0 at home.
