Price guides Connecticut past Ole Miss

Hartford, CT (Sports Network) – A.J. Price poured in a game-high 23 points to
lead 21st-ranked Connecticut past Ole Miss, 77-59, in the Hispanic College
Fund Classic at Hartford Civic Center.

Price finished 9-of-13 from the field and dished out four assists while Jerome
Dyson scored 16 points for the Huskies (4-0), who never trailed in the second
half.

Jeff Adrien added 13 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Marcus Johnson
contributed 10 points in the win.

Bam Doyne led the Rebels (4-1) with 16 points on 7-of-17 shooting. Clarence
Sanders and Todd Abernethy each scored 13 points in the loss.

Ole Miss was a dismal 35 percent (24-for-69) from the floor.

Leading by one with 8:34 remaining, UConn went on a 22-7 burst to finish the
first half with a 39-23 advantage. Price led the charge with 11 points in the
frame while the Huskies shot 45 percent from the floor.

The Rebels were never a threat to UConn in the second half as they could only
get as close as 14 when Abernethy drained a three early on.

Game Notes

The game marked the first ever meeting between the two schools…UConn shot 50
percent from three-point range…Ole Miss committed eight turnovers to UConn’s
