No. 23 Boston College topples Rhode Island

Chestnut Hill, MA (Sports Network) – Sean Marshall matched a career-high with
23 points and pulled down eight rebounds as 23rd-ranked Boston College
throttled Rhode Island, 86-68, at Conte Forum.

Tyrese Rice added 19 points and five assists for the Eagles (2-2), who snapped
a two-game skid. Jared Dudley chipped in with 18 points and 10 boards while
Sean Williams had 13 points and seven blocked shots.

Will Daniels tallied 19 points for the Rams (3-3), who lost for the first time
in three games. Jimmy Baron added 12 points and Lamonte Ulmer netted 11
and pulled down seven boards.

The Eagles shot a sizzling 56 percent from the floor and scored 31 points off
18 Rhode Island turnovers in a dominating performance.

The Rams started the game with an 8-0 run but Boston College quickly righted
itself. A Rice three-pointer gave the Eagles their first lead, 19-17, with
11:55 left in the opening half.

Boston College then outscored the Rams 28-13 the rest of the way to take a
commanding 47-30 edge into the final frame.

Rhode Island was unable to make any kind of serious run in the second half and
never cut the lead under double-digits as the Eagles coasted to the finish

Boston College leads the all-time series with Rhode Island 35-10…Williams
blocked a career-high 12 shots in BC’s last game.
