Wisconsin rolls past Auburn
South Padre Island, TX (Sports Network) – Kammron Taylor had 16 points and
Alando Tucker added 15 points to lead seventh-ranked Wisconsin over Auburn,
77-63, in the consolation game of the South Padre Island Invitational.
Jason Bohannon tallied 10 points for the Badgers (5-1), who rebounded from
their upset loss in the semifinals to Missouri State to get back into the win
DeWayne Reed had 17 points and seven assists and Frank Tolbert had 12 points
and six boards for the Tigers (4-2), who have dropped two in a row.
Wisconsin led 35-25 after the first half and cruised to the final buzzer.
Auburn never led in the game, while the Badgers biggest lead was 19
points coming with 3:30 left in the contest.
Rasheem Barrett and Korvotney barber each had 10 points in defeat for Auburn.
This was the first-ever meeting between these two schools on the
hardwood…Wisconsin shot 46 percent from the floor for the game, while Auburn
went for 49 percent…Each team hit six three-pointers, but Wisconsin hit 19-
of-30 free throws compared to 11-of-19 for Auburn…Missouri State beat
Wisconsin 66-64 in the semis.
