Anderson leads No. 14 Memphis over Arkansas State

Memphis, TN (Sports Network) – Antonio Anderson scored 17 points and dished
out five assists as 14th-ranked Memphis waxed Arkansas State, 86-60, at
FedExForum.

Jeremy Hunt added 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting for the Tigers (4-1), who beat
Arkansas State for the third consecutive time. Robert Dozier chipped in with
13 points and Joey Dorsey had 10 points and seven rebounds for Memphis.

Adrian Banks paced the Indians (4-5), who dropped their second straight game,
with a game-high 25 points. No other Arkansas State player reached double
figures in the game.

Memphis took over a close game by finishing the opening half with a 23-6 burst
to take a comfortable 45-26 edge into the locker room. Anderson highlighted
the run with 10 points, including a big three.

The Tigers kept pulling away in the final frame. A Dorsey dunk, with 14:30
remaining, ignited the crowd and gave Memphis its first 30-point advantage,
61-30.

Then, a pair of free throws by Anderson, with just over 12 minutes left, gave
the Tigers their largest lead of the night, 68-31, en route to the easy win.

Game Notes

With the win, Memphis took a slim 29-28 edge in the all-time series…The
Indians had 25 turnovers in the game that led to 28 Tigers points.
