Couisnard leads Wichita State to easy win

Wichita, KS (Sports Network) – P.J. Couisnard scored 16 points to lead 17th-
ranked Wichita State over Missouri-Kansas City, 85-55, at Koch Arena.

Sean Ogirri added 15 points and Phillip Thomasson had 12 points and 10 boards
for the Shockers (5-0), who have yet to lose this season.

Quitton Day had 19 points for the Kangaroos (3-4), who have lost four of five.
Brent Stephens added 15 points in a losing cause for UMKC.

UMKC kept it close over the first 20 minutes, going into halftime down just
27-24. However, the Shockers opened the second half on a 17-4 run to open up a
44-28 cushion.

Wichita State hit its first 11 second-half shots and cruised to the final

The Shockers played a home game as a ranked team for the first time since
1983…Wichita State next travels to face Syracuse…The Shockers own a 4-1
mark against UMKC all-time.
