scored 11 for the Tigers (4-1).

David Gomez struck for a team-high 19, and Kevin Sims scored 12. Chris Moore

the trend, on an 11-4 burst to take their first lead of the day, 11-10, with a
little more than five minutes played. LSU built on that initial spurt, and
Temple’s lay-in with 9:26 left in the half staked the Tigers to a 23-17

However, the Green Wave gathered momentum, jumping ahead 38-27 on a Gomez
jumper with 3:08 remaining, and while the Tigers managed to hang in and close
the gap to five. Andrew Garcia’s make with 10 seconds left boosted Tulane to
a solid 42-36 lead at intermission.

Tulane continued to play well at the outset of the second half, upping their
lead to eight, 47-39 on a Danny Puckett free throw with 15:35 left. The
Tigers finally sprung to life, wresting control of the game to take a 58-49
lead thanks to a 19-2 run ending midway through the half.

Throughout the remainder of the contest, Tulane did not lose their composure,
clawing back within four points, 71-67, as Gomez sank a shot from in-close
with 1:08 to go. LSU closed out the game with the final four points on shots
by Tack Minor and Mason for the seven-point win.
